FitPass provides students with class flexibility

By KEVIN KOVANICH

Students bored with the traditional workout at the Campus Recreation Center can purchase a FitPass.

Tamara Brown, a junior psychology and family individual development major who works at the Rec, said the FitPass is a way for you to explore other options.

“It gets you into any fitness class,” Brown said.

Brown said obtaining a FitPass is simple and easy for NIU students.

“Go to the [Rec] to the front service window,” Brown said.

Several different types of passes are offered. Option packages include anything from a single-class pass to an annual unlimited pass.

The majority of students purchase the long-term passes, Brown said.

“We have a lot of people who get the annual unlimited pass,” she said.

Brown said the single-day pass is perfect for someone who is not sure what classes they want to take and may just want to check it out.

Passes are also available exclusively for yoga and cycling classes.
