Holiday-themed music is overrated

By TONY MARTIN

The holiday season is upon us.

You’re probably as glad as I am that the year is nearly over and this semester is almost done.

But there is something I fear: the Christmas songs that dominate the radio.

Now, I normally don’t listen to the radio, but when I’m in a car that isn’t mine during this time of year, Christmas music is always on.

While seasonal music adds to the mood of the holidays, I think it’s time that we turn it down.

During the holidays, radio stations tend to shift to seasonal-based play lists and ignore the standard music.

This is a problem, and I really wonder what it is about Christmas that makes its music so likeable to everyone but me.

I’d rather spend my time and money on presents for everyone else (in hopes they’ll give me something nicer in return) than listen to holiday music.
