St. Charles home offers visitors Halloween scares
October 25, 2007
If you’re in the St. Charles area, stop by 209 N. Third Ave. and pay a visit to Giggles the Clown and his Sideshow Freaks. The remaining nights are Oct. 26, 27 and 31 from dusk until 11 p.m.
The Demonic Circus of Pain and Torture is the winner of this year’s Gallery of Ghoulish Homes, an event put on by the St. Charles Park District. There were 24 contest entries.
Bryan Pierson is the homeowner and organizer of the circus and has been decorating his yard since 2003.
It’s not technically a haunted house, but sometimes up to 300 people stop by on October nights to see the best home haunt in St. Charles, complete with live actors playing various demented freaks.
“We’ve got clowns, a jester, Little Red Riding Hood, Raggedy Ann, all sorts of characters that add to the scene,” Pierson said.
According to an announcement by hauntedillinois.com, it’s not appropriate for anyone under the age of 12, terrifying for anyone who hates clowns and the already free admission is reduced further “only with body part donation.”
