Women’s soccer headed toward coach’s expectations
October 8, 2007
The growth of the NIU women’s soccer team is moving right along with what the coaches predicted.
“I’m very pleased with where they’re at. They’re right along track with what I expected,” said head coach Marci Miller Jobson. “They look good but we need to continue working on things and tighten up things.”
According to Miller Jobson, one of the things that needs work is finishing up on scoring opportunities. The Huskies’ scoring has picked up, but NIU is 12th in the MAC in goals scored with 12. They are currently ranked third, however, in goals against average (.94).
No day off
While there is no practice on Monday, the Huskies do not have the day off. They are constantly preparing for the next opponent. According to Miller Jobson, taking care of their bodies and eating well will lead to success.
“You have to continue to reinforce certain philosophies that are crucial like go out and train as hard as you can,” Miller Jobson said. “You have to be focused on the next game. All we’re looking at is Ball State.”
