September 6, 2007
DeKalb police are searching for four individuals suspected of committing an attempted criminal sexual assault.
An NIU student was accosted by four suspects in the 1100 block of W. Hillcrest Road Saturday around 4:30 a.m. She was eventually able to escape the suspects and contact police. Lt. Jim Kayes of the DeKalb Police Department said the victim was attempting to get away when the individuals started grabbing her.
“The sustained physical injuries made it obvious what they were trying to do was a sexual assault,” Kayes said.
The four suspects are described as black males. Three of the suspects are described as 6-feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, and one as 5 feet 9 inches tall.
