On May 12, the Rockford MetroCentre, 300 Elm St., Rockford, will play host to multiplatinum-selling rockers Hinder and Fuel on the MadPackers.com “Door To Dorm” national tour.

The tour began and will end in Pennsylvania, kicking off April 13 in Jonestown and concluding May 16 in Philadelphia. Papa Roach and Puddle Of Mudd also appear as support on select dates.

Hinder are best known for their singles “Get Stoned,” “Lips of an Angel,” “How Long” and “Better Than Me.” Their debut album, “Extreme Behavior,” received many negative reviews (including being called one of the worst albums of 2005 by All Music Guide), but “Get Stoned” was certified platinum in September 2006. The band has performed with bands like Eighteen Visions, 3 Doors Down and Buckcherry, with the biggest feather in their touring cap being a trio of shows with Aerosmith in December 2006.

MadPackers.com is a college-student-oriented shipping service that provides pickup and delivery of belongings from home to school – hence, “Door to Dorm.” This year’s tour is the company’s first.
