DeKALB | For the over-21 crowd, finding a party for the Super Bowl is like finding a corn on the cob in DeKalb.

For those without plans, the Northern Star has a breakdown of what bars in the area are offering for the big game. Bust out the orange and blue and head out to one of DeKalb’s drinking establishments and party like it’s 1985 as the Bears play to win.

Bar One, 1000 W. Lincoln Highway:

Bar One will kick off the day by showing the 1985 Bears Super Bowl game at noon, and will feature a free buffet at 4 p.m. The Bacardi girls will hang out during the game and drawings for five VIP parties of 50 will be given away. Bar One will also host a contest for the best-dressed Ditka, with a prize of $100, said Bar One owner Bob Myers. The Bar One bus will start running at about 3 p.m. so fans are not discouraged by the cold.

Fatty’s Pub and Grille, 1312 W. Lincoln Highway:

The Super Bowl celebration will start early. At 11:30 a.m., Fatty’s will show the 1985 Bears Super Bowl game. Prizes, including pictures and footballs signed by Brian Urlacher and Tommie Harris, will be raffled off throughout the day. The Bud Light girls will be handing out prizes during the game. Fatty’s has two 60-inch high-definition plasma televisions and a 120-inch projection screen for the event. Reservations are available for groups who want to watch the game on the projection screen, said Jeff Dobie, owner of Fatty’s Pub and Grille.

Molly’s Eatery and Drinkery, 1022 W. Lincoln Highway:

A Super Bowl party sponsored by Jim Beam will include giveaways throughout the game and a free buffet beginning at 5 p.m. Drink specials will include a BEARS bomb. Jason Sanfilippo, owner of Molly’s Eatery and Drinkery, is expecting a full house and suggests guests come early to get a table and take advantage of the buffet.

O’Leary’s Irish Pub & Grill, 260 E. Lincoln Highway:

Fans can expect three high-definition big screen televisions throughout the establishment. The upstairs area opens at 4 p.m. and entry will be on a first come, first serve basis. Prizes and giveaways will take place at halftime. Draft beers will be served in a 20-ounce Super Bowl cup, said Trevor Turner, event coordinator for O’Leary’s.

Reilly’s Bar & Eatery, 1215 Blackhawk Road:

Reilly’s Bar & Eatery will feature a remake of the “Saturday Night Live” skit, “Bill Swerski’s Superfans,” featuring employees dressed up as “superfans” talking like Mike Ditka, i.e. “Da Bears!” Guests are also welcome to dress up as “superfans” for a shot at some cash and other prizes, said Brian Powell, manager of Reilly’s Bar & Eatery. More than 300 people are expected and the downstairs will open with a projection screen to accommodate another 200 people.
