Catch of the Day: Rob Lyman

By Derek Walker

Rob Lyman is a graduate student in computer science.

Northern Star: How old are you?

Rob Lyman: 32.

NS: What are your hobbies?

RL: Fairly geeky ones. Computer games, although not that many. I collect music.

NS: Legally or illegally?

RL: Mostly legally. I’m actually a little bit old-fashioned. I mostly get CDs.

NS: Tell me something interesting about yourself.

RL: Everyone thinks I am a nice guy, but I’m a little bit cynical.

NS: What was the scariest moment in your life?

RL: The 2004 election.

NS: If you had a super power, what would it be?

RL: The ability to unknot shoelaces. Instantly.

NS: If you could do one thing to fix the world, what would it be?

RL: Nuke it from close orbit; it’s the only way to be sure. Told you I was cynical.
