Streaks collide in Muncie, Ind.

DeKALB | Two teams, two losing streaks.

Something has to give.

Ball State (4-12, 0-3), currently on a six-game skid, will host the NIU men’s basketball team (4-11, 1-2) at 6 p.m. tonight. The Huskies enter having lost 11 of their last 12 games.

BSU has played a tough non-conference schedule and lost to traditional basketball powers Kansas, Georgetown, Oklahoma State, Temple and Indiana. Rising mid-major darlings Butler and Western Kentucky have also defeated the Cardinals.

Senior forward Skip Mills is averaging 12.7 points per game to lead an offense that is struggling from the field, connecting on only 38 percent of its shots and 27 percent of its three-point field goal attempts.

NIU senior guard Mike McKinney has strung together several strong offensive performances and leads the Huskies in

scoring with 13.4 points per game.

Junior forward Shaun Logan has emerged as a steady, all-around performer and gives balance to the NIU lineup. The Kirkwood C.C. transfer is scoring 8.1 points per game while pulling down an average of 6.3 rebounds. He also leads the team with 45 assists.

Parity appears to be king right now in the MAC West Division. Despite being one game from the cellar, the Huskies are only two games out of first place. Toledo sits atop the standings at 7-8, with a perfect 3-0 conference slate.
