A day after information about The Goo Goo Dolls’ scheduled DeKalb concert surfaced on various Web sites, Convocation Center personnel are able to shed more light on the event.

As stated Tuesday, the show is March 2, 2007.

The Buffalo, NY trio will headline a show beginning at 8 p.m. with special guest Augustana on tap to open the evening.

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. and are $31.50 for general admission and reserved seating. They can be purchased at the Convo as well as through Ticketmaster outlets.

However, a discount pre-sale will be held Thursday at the Convocation Center’s box office. The $3 markdown will only be available at the venue and pertain to NIU students with a valid OneCard.

The 14-date spring tour will bring the band to NIU two days before the act makes another Illinois collegiate stop at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.

Both shows, as well as the other dozen on the itinerary, will have special meet-and-greet opportunities for INNER circle members, according to the band’s official Web site. This opportunity, available to members, the online club, has been included at several stops on the group’s current winter tour.
