Pack it in Brett
December 8, 2006
Here we go again.
As another pitiful season for the Green Bay Packers slowly runs its course, QB Brett Favre has announced he will need surgery to clean bone spurs from his left ankle. Plus, Favre has publicly doubted his own decision to return for this season. Once again, No. 4’s eight month long “will he retire” soap opera will kick into motion. Please, Brett. Not again.
Last season, he threw a career-worst 29 interceptions along the ride toward Green Bay’s first losing season since the first Bush administration. Favre has fared only slightly better for a Packers team that has presented few reasons to be optimistic about the near future.
Brett, get out while you can. You’ve got a bum ankle, and an even bummer team. No one can tell you when it is time for you to retire; however, you owe it to yourself to not endure another season like the the past two.
But, whatever your decision is, try to decide before August. Please.
