Police arrest two men connected to burglaries

DeKALB | DeKalb County Sheriff’s Officers arrested two suspects in connection with a string of burglaries that occurred along Ill. Route 30, according to a Sheriff’s Office statement.
Sheriff’s Officers arrested Joseph D. Hall, 25, of Aurora, and John H. Kellum, 33, of Sugar Grove, in connection with robberies at three businesses and one private residence in the downtown area of Shabbona, on Nov. 8.
Police received a report of an attempted burglary Nov. 14, at the Brown Pub, 200 Somonauk Road, Hinckley, that they also allege was committed by the suspects. The Sheriff’s Office said other charges in connection with similar offenses are pending from other law enforcement agencies.
Hall and Kellum both face four counts of burglary and one count of attempted burglary from DeKalb County and one charge of burglary from the Sandwich police department. Both suspects are being held in the DeKalb County Jail. Kellum’s bond has been set at $50,000, and Hall’s at $25,000.
