Men’s basketball in back-to-back Duquesne games

By James Nokes

Getting to know its next opponent will be no problem for the NIU men’s basketball team.

NIU has back-to-back contests with Duquesne.

The Huskies are in Pennsylvania for a 6 p.m. game tonight at the A.J. Palumbo Center.

The Dukes are off to a 2-0 start despite a shooting incident on campus that left coach Ron Everhart with only eight scholarship players.

NIU (1-0) senior guard Mike McKinney tallied 20 points against St. Mary’s. Senior center James Hughes and junior forward Zach Pancratz added 17 in the 84-69 season-opening win.

In his six seasons on the NIU sidelines, coach Rob Judson has yet to win a road opener.
