After coming off a tough loss to IUPUI last Tuesday, the NIU women’s basketball team looks to get back on the winning side tonight at 7 p.m. when it takes on Illinois at the Convocation Center.

The Illini are 3-0 so far this season, with the team’s margin of victory being 17 points per game.

Illinois has three players that average double-digit scoring. Forward Lacey Simpson leads the scoring charge for the Illini, averaging 14 points per game.

“I hope that we will have a better defensive game,” Owens said. “We have been working on our defense all week so hopefully it will pay off.”
