Junior transfer Logan impresses in NIU debut
November 10, 2006
DeKALB | The NIU men’s basketball roster features a slew of new players.
Amidst the eight new faces stands a potential dynamic playmaker. Keep steady tabs on transfer Shaun Logan.
The 6’7″ forward is a deft ball-handler along the perimeter and has a cunning sense of how to manage the offense when the offense places his lengthy frame at the top of the key.
“Shaun is a good four man,” NIU coach Rob Judson said. “It was good for him to come off the bench and watch the vets to start the game. He really attacks the glass well and was our leading rebounder.”
In back-to-back first-half possessions, Logan’s versatility was on display.
A personal five-point run started with a three pointer from the corner.
Plus the Kirkwood Community College product attacked the offensive glass with zeal.
Judson said Logan has the potential to occupy a role similar to the one Ben Rand occupied last year; a player who does the dirty work and little things around the basket that might not always translate into glittering statistics.
Logan’s line: five points, seven rebounds, four assists and one steal.
Dirty work indeed.
