DeKALB | The Sigma Lambda Beta 6th Annual Comedy Jam will take place today at 8 p.m. in the Carl Sandburg Auditorium.
The show will host comedians Jill-Michelle Melean and Summer NeVille. Melean is an Emmy-nominated comedian who worked on Mad TV, Reno 911! and Comedy Central. NeVille has performed in comedy shows throughout the Chicagoland area.
“We’ve gotten a great response from the students,” said Javier Arellano, director of social affairs for Sigma Lambda Beta fraternity and vice president of programming for the Campus Activities Board. “It’s a tradition for Latino Heritage Month and we just want to keep the tradition going.”
Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to all students.
“The comedians are different, not really local,” Arellano said. “It’s a different flavor.”
The show is sponsored by Sigma Lambda Beta, CAB and the Association for the Latino Movement and Accreditations.
