Evanescence

Evanescence is not what you typically would expect out of Little Rock, Ark. Its dark and dramatic music is very unique and has broken the mold for what rock music has sounded like in the past.
Its 11-track album “Fallen” may be a little shorter than fans would like, but that just leaves us wanting more. Every song on the album is incredible, making this a CD that all rock fans should have.
-Every track has something special in it making it hard to chose a favorite. However, the track “Haunted” does stand out due to the melodic beats and beautiful melodies. Another song that will gain attention is “Tourniquet” with hard-hitting lyrics and a vibrant sound.
The vocals of lead singer Amy Lee are amazing. Her voice is piercing, yet beautiful. With such great vocals, the band does not need to do too much more to sound great. Its style of music is unique, which makes them stand out and be noticed. Not to mention the fact that it is a hard rock group with a female singer, something that is not seen or heard very often.
Along with appearing on “Fallen,” the songs “Bring Me to Life” and “My Immortal” also appear on the “Daredevil” soundtrack, which hit No. 9 on the Billboard 200 this week. “Bring Me to Life” is the first single released and set the tone for what fans to expect from the band.
“‘Bring Me To Life’ is about discovering something or someone that awakens a feeling inside them that they’ve never had before,” lead guitarist Ben Moody commented.
Lyrically, Evanescence is remarkable. The lyrics remind us that even though the band members are rock stars, they are human, too. They go through heartaches and tragedies like the rest of us, but they just sing about it. The emotions of the band are felt on every song on the album.
“The point of this whole record and band is to let people know that they’re not alone in dealing with bad feelings or pain or anything that they go through,” said Lee, on the Evanescence Web site.
“That’s life and that’s human. They’re not alone, and we’re going through it, too,” she added.
The talent and promise of Evanescence is phenomenal. It really does have what it takes to dominate rock charts. Its originality will carry it to the top of the charts and into the hearts of rock fans everywhere.
