Workers Hit With Food On Frat Scavenge

DeKALB | Restaurant drive-thru attendants found themselves the victims of their own fast food Monday morning. According to DeKalb Police reports, suspects hurled food items at two drive-thru attendants as part of a fraternity-organized scavenger hunt.

Police reportedly responded to McDonald’s, 805 West Lincoln Highway, after receiving a call at 2:18 a.m. saying customers at the drive-thru window had thrown a cheeseburger, fries and a cup of soda at an employee’s face.

Police did not disclose which NIU fraternity was involved.

Michael S. Errandi of Darien, turned himself in to police and was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct.

Police later learned of another incident at Taco Bell, 1209 East Lincoln Highway, where customers had thrown a glass of water at an employee.

Police located and arrested Charles M. Obecny, 19, of DeKalb, and Andrea D. Lacorte, 20, of DeKalb, for battery and disorderly conduct in connection with the Taco Bell incident.

Police learned that a fraternity was conducting a scavenger hunt and that the incidents were part of the hunt’s requirements, according to police reports.
