American way
October 3, 2006
So let’s see. The Mets have no pitchers. The Dodgers have no hitters. The Cardinals just have Albert Pujols. And the Padres have . . . um, I’ll get back to you.
Yeah, is there any way the American League won’t win the World Series — again?
I’m sorry, but the designated hitter doesn’t make that much of a difference.
The fact is that one way or another the National League has to adapt, and fast. Whether it’s the pitchers, the hitters or both, the American League has the National League’s number.
And unless something happens — like someone other than Pujols being able to hit — the National League will be losing the Series for a long time.
