Huskies hope to end slump

DeKALB | Searching for their offense, the NIU women’s soccer team will go for three straight wins against a familiar foe.
After a hard-fought tie with Creighton University, the Huskies (1-2-1) will travel to Green Bay today to take on the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (2-2-1) at 7 p.m.
“It’s going to be a very competitive game,” said NIU assistant coach Paul Jobson. “It’s going to be an all-out war like Creighton was.”
If history is any indicator, the game against the Phoenix should be a close one. The last three meetings have all been decided by one goal, with NIU taking the last two.
NIU’s Karen Enockson will try to jump start an offense that was dormant a week ago. The junior leads the team with 13 total shots on goal and two goals.
Seniors Megan Kolkay and Elaine Eliadis also will be looked up to for leadership and to keep the rest of the team on target, Coach Jobson said.
For the second straight weekend, NIU will play an in-state opponent. Sunday, the Huskies will head to Chicago to take on DePaul (1-2-2).
