DeKALB | An anonymous caller tipped the DeKalb Police off to a street fight at the corner of 12th and Pleasant Streets at 7:53 a.m. Saturday.

The caller reported about 10 people involved in the incident. Officers responded to the call and discovered the fight was between two individuals with a number of onlookers.

Police located several people who said the fight started at a house on the 1100 block of Pleasant Street.

Police found the onlookers were not engaged in the fight and some were attempting to break up the two men involved, said DeKalb Police Sgt. Wes Hoadley, one of several officers who responded to the incident.

“They were two friends who had been drinking,” Hoadley said. “One of the older people was trying to break them up.”

After conducting an investigation, police arrested David Cevada, 19, of DeKalb, for battery and consumption of liquor by a minor and his roommate, Ignacio Najera, 22, for battery.
