Few tickets remain for Ohio St. game

NIU students still hoping to get their hands on tickets for the Huskies’ season opener against Ohio State Saturday will need to act fast.

“We still do have a very limited number of student tickets,” said Eric Schultz, associate director of ticket operations. “By Monday or Tuesday they will most likely be sold out.”

Students can purchase up to two tickets with their NIU OneCard at the Convocation Center for $59 per ticket.

NIU was allotted 4,000 tickets to split between students and the general public. Most of these seats are located within sections in the end zone.

While general public tickets sold out on August 10 — three days after they were released — NIU has held a few tickets for students who are still seeking to attend the season opener.

Joe Novak, NIU head football coach, hopes to see thousands of Huskie fans making the pilgrimage to Columbus to support their team against the No. 1 ranked team in the nation.

“Anytime you can get that kind of support it means a lot to the team,” Novak said. “It’s great for the kids to hear.”

Ohio Stadium is the fourth largest college football venue in the nation with a capacity of 101,568.
