Some bars expected to face fines, suspensions
March 21, 2006
Some liquor license holders in DeKalb are expected to face possible fines and suspensions during an April 10 liquor commission hearing resulting from an Illinois State Police liquor sting.
The sting took place in early February. Police found several minors on the premises of The Barn, 1215 Blackhawk Road, Molly’s Eatery, 1022 W. Lincoln Highway, and Mardi Gras Lanes, 1730 Sycamore Road.
Punishments will be determined by each license holder’s previous liquor violation history, City Attorney Norma Guess said.
The city will make recommendations to the liquor commissioner, Mayor Frank Van Buer, and he will have five days to decide what to do from there, Guess said.
