Best Moments in Ashlee Simpson History:
Best Moments in Ashlee Simpson History:
Date: Oct. 23, 2004
Event: “Saturday Night Live” Musical Act
Description: Simpson was to perform as the musical act on the popular sketch comedy show, but somehow the music got messed up and everyone realized she was lip-synching. Instead, she decided to perform a nice jig. Sadly, it may have been the high point of her career.
Date: Jan. 4, 2005
Event: Orange Bowl Halftime Show
Description: Simpson left the stage arena full of 72,000 fans with a chorus of boos that sounded better than her performance. Maybe it was another acid reflux problem? Maybe it was a background vocal track problem? Nope, there was no problem other than her just being there. I bet fans wished for Janet Jackson more than ever.
Date: June 9, 2005
Event: MTV Movie Awards after party
Description: Fellow teeny bopper Lindsay Lohan bars sisters Jessica and Ashlee from entering her MTV Movie Awards after-party. The Simpsons were marked as a potential problem as the New York Daily News reported a “catfight” nearly ensued. The guards should have let the girls take each other out and tossed in Hillary Duff for good measure.
Date: Aug. 26, 2005
Event: Release date of her movie “Undiscovered”
Description: The premise of the movie is a group of aspiring entertainers who want to start a career in Los Angeles. However, the people who saw the movie had a different premise. A group of aspiring entertainers ending a career in Los Angeles. The best thing to come of this movie is she was nominated for a Razzie Award for Worst Supporting Actress. Only nominated, though. Maybe one day she’ll win.
Date: Oct. 3, 2005
Event: Letter to her fans
Description: Simpson posts a letter to her fans on her official Web site that contains lines like “Ahhh! I’m going to be 21!!!” as well as the signature “Love you all! Muah!!! Xoxoxo.” Apparently she was confused and forgot this was not a note passed in a study hall.
Date: Nov. 4, 2005
Event: Ordering food at McDonald’s
Description: A potentially drunken Simpson and a guy got into an altercation because the fan called her gross (if you saw the photos, you’d understand why), realized who she was, and then asked for a photo. Simpson attempted to stand on the counter and demanded the guy kiss her feet. Isn’t it nice we live in a world where stars are just like us and demand people to kiss their feet?
