hawthorne heights, “if you were only lonely”
March 1, 2006
If Hawthorne Heights taught us anything, aside from screaming at us, it’s “Ohio is For Lovers.”
Funny. I was always told Ohio is the armpit of America.
Armpits. Love. It’s kind of the same thing.
In an album devoted to screaming about exes and past loves, Hawthorne Heights recycles the same message throughout the 43-minute album.
Here comes some screaming. Oh wait, here comes some distorted power chords. There’s the same pounding drum beat. Is this track seven or two?
“Tell me how you feel in five words or less,” screams singer J.T. Woodruff.
I’ve already wasted three and a half inches on you. That’s more than five words. I’m done.
