Friday night at Otto’s Niteclub, 118 E. Lincoln Highway, Cealed Kasket will perform at 10 p.m.
“Cealed Kasket is just a really hilarious spoof metal band,” said Otto’s general manager Jeremy Eisenberg. “I can’t even really explain their music; they are just pretty funny.”
Basically Bluegrass will play at Wild Rose Bistro, 850 Pappas Drive.
“Basically Bluegrass is a band that travels around the United States playing at bluegrass festivals,” said Brenden Kisiel, owner of Wild Rose Bistro. “They are regulars here and play once a month.”
Also playing Friday is NYCO, which will perform at The House Cafe, 263 E. Lincoln Highway.
“NYCO is a band comprised of NIU music alumni,” said John Ugolini, booking agent of Kickstand Productions. “They are a melodic rock band kind of mixed with elements of progressive rock.”

Saturday night will bring Brad Sweet to Wild Rose Bistro.
“Brad Sweet is a really great pianist,” Kisiel said. “The music is acoustic rock, and he has a group perform with him. He is quite amazing.”
Saturday night at Otto’s is a night of indie rock. Amsterdam Peepshow, BOG, Quatre Tete and Bear Claw will take the stage at 10 p.m.
“This is an independent rock night,” said Eisenberg. “It’s just a night featuring a bunch of local rock bands.”
Also Saturday, The House Cafe will host headlining act Russian Circles.
“Russian Circles is an epic instrumental band from Chicago,” said Ugolini.
Performing with Russian Circles is Candy Sweat.
“Candy Sweat plays sugary pop music that makes you feel warm,” said Ugolini. “Their music is like the little messages on those candy hearts you get on Valentine’s Day.”
