Armed robbery could be related to others
February 22, 2006
A victim called the DeKalb police at 8:13 p.m. Monday to report an armed robbery In the 900 block of Ridge Drive.
The victim said a man wearing a ski mask approached her, displayed a large knife and took the victim’s bag.
The suspect then fled the scene on foot, and police were unable to locate him.
Police are unsure whether this incident is related to recent others.
“Theoretically, this can be related to the guy at the U-Wash or the guy who tried to steal a pit bull,” said DeKalb Police Lt. Jim Kayes.
The type of weapon used in the robbery is the same as the one used by the suspect in an armed robbery at U-Wash, 1742 Sycamore Road, he said.
This armed robbery incident was in close proximity to the attempted robbery of a woman walking her pit bull in early January, Kayes said.
Police have no suspects and are investigating the case.
