Cafe offers alternative to Friday night parties

While most students on the weekends spend their nights searching for something to do, quite a few have found a place to listen to great music, drink coffee, be athletic or just talk. The LifeStone Café has become a popular place for students to hang out on Friday nights.
Troy Noll, a sophomore pre-physical therapy major, has been coming to the cafe for about a year and a half.
“There is something different to do every night. It’s fun to get involved and meet people,” Noll said.
Stephanie Conlin, a freshman textiles, apparel and merchandising major, recently went to the cafe to see what it’s all about.
“There is a really cool atmosphere, and there is a lot to do to keep you busy,” she said.
The cafe, however, serves as more than a fun place to hang out with friends. Trevor Holloway, the campus ministry director at Wellspring Chapel, has high hopes for the cafe’s ministry.
“We want to let students know there is an alternative place to hang out besides parties,” Holloway said. “This is a church filled with people who love and pray for students, Christians or not.”
The cafe has partnered with many Christian organizations on campus such as Intervarsity, Impact Christian Fellowship and Campus Crusade.
