This weekend in DeKalb, various musicians of several different genres will be performing.

Friday night at Otto’s, 118 E. Lincoln Highway, the two-piece rock group Local H will perform. Local H, hailing from Zion, is a DeKalb favorite, and Otto’s general manager Jeremy Eisenberg is expecting a decent-sized crowd.

“We usually sell out with them,” Eisenberg said. “Local H is one of our favorites. We love having them back.

Friday night will also bring jam band Distance to The House Café, 263 E. Lincoln Highway.

“Distance is a melodic jam band with horns,” said John Ugolini, booking agent of Kickstand Productions. “They’ve played here in the past, and they’re a lot of fun. These guys make great music.”

Starbusters, 930 Pappas Drive has another music option Friday night with the rock cover group Catfight performing at 9:30 p.m.

Catfight is a girl rock band featuring American Idol contestant Gina Glocksen. Glocksen made it to the second round in the fifth season of American Idol.

Saturday night at Otto’s, Kashmir, a Led Zeppelin cover band from Chicago will perform.

“Kashmir is an excellent Led Zeppelin cover band,” Eisenberg said. “If you like Led Zeppelin, they are the band to see. They do a very good job.”

At 8 p.m. Saturday night, The House Café will host a charity event for Sweet Relief Musicians Fund. The event will feature a Rock Star Date Auction, where people will have the chance to win a date with 12 local musicians.

After the auction, The Amazing Killowatts followed by Bang! Bang!, a trio from Chicago, will perform.

“Bang! Bang! is an incredible rock band. They have a fun, edgy theme,” Ugolini said.
