Home-opener tickets still on sale

Tickets for Saturday’s 2005 football home-opener at Huskie Stadium are still available, according to the Convocation Center ticket office.

Roughly half of the allotted tickets for the NIU-Tennessee Tech game remain unsold, one Convo Center official said. Tickets are available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the CAB box office in the Holmes Student Center and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Convo Center. NIU students can receive a free ticket with their NIU OneCard. Tickets for student guests can be purchased for $15; general-admission seats also are available for $25.

“With a good walk-up, we could still make a run for a sellout,” said Todd Garzarelli, director of athletics marketing.

Tickets can also be purchased on game day at the west side of Huskie Stadium. If student tickets remain unsold, students with NIU OneCards will be able to enter the game for free.

“We would urge students to pick up their tickets [today] to ensure that they’ll get a ticket,” Garzarelli said.

Huskie Stadium seats 28,000 fans. NIU led the MAC in attendance last season, averaging 27,052 fans in five home games.
