The NIU women’s cross-country team had a successful start, finishing second in a nine-school field at the Elmhurst College Invitational on Saturday. Individually, freshman Megan Ginter placed third in her first collegiate event. The Waubonsie Valley High School graduate covered the 3,200-meter layout in 12:01.25.
Ginter’s inaugural performance on the turf merited a nomination for the MAC Runner of the Week. Julie Trundle from Bowling Green won the award.
