Few tickets left for Michigan game

NIU students still looking for tickets to the Huskies’ Sept. 3 football game at Michigan may be out of luck.

All of the 4,800 tickets, which were available at $49 each through NIU’s ticket offices, have been sold and 200 tickets have been set aside for incoming students by the NIU Campus Activities Board.

“There will be no more tickets available to students through NIU,” said Director of Athletic Ticketing Eric Schultz. “The 200 tickets from CAB will be first-come-first-serve for all the incoming students who were not around in the summer to get info.”

Tickets went on sale March 15, and were only available to 2005 season ticket holders, Huskie Club members and NIU students with a valid NIU OneCard until July 29. Tickets then became available to the general public Aug. 1.

Schultz added that Michigan has sold out all of its tickets as well.

CAB President John Acardo couldn’t be reached at press time.

As well as their game at Michigan, the Huskies can expect a packed house at home games.

At the NIU media day Aug. 10, Athletic Director Jim Phillips announced that 98 percent of season tickets have been renewed from last season.

“We look proudly on that fact,” Phillips said. “We look at those numbers and I think this year we’ll make a run at breaking [the season ticket] record.”
