Sycamore man killed in two-car accident

A Sycamore man was killed and two Creston children were injured in a head-on collision March 13.
A 2004 Ford F-150 driven by William N. Joiner, 79, of Princeton, was going eastbound on Route 38 west of Willrett Road at 12:42 p.m., according to DeKalb County Sheriff police witness reports.
The reports said Joiner pulled out to pass a vehicle and struck a 1994 Ford Explorer driven by David L. Davis, 29, last of Sycamore.
Davis was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:39 p.m. by DeKalb County Chief Deputy Coroner Dave Jacobson.
The Explorer’s two other passengers, Alicia L. Davis, 9, and James Davis, 6, were flown to Rockford Memorial Hospital.
Police said the Explorer’s passengers were not wearing seat belts.
Joiner was flown by helicopter to St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, police said. His wife, Carol, 78, was taken to Kishwaukee Community Hospital, 626 Bethany Road.
Joiner was charged with improper passing.
