Student’s favorite rockers give it their all

Mike Pospeshil’s band is currently searching for a new name and a new singer, but doesn’t need to look far when it comes to naming his 10 favorite rockers of all time.
Pospeshil, a junior general studies major and bass player for the band formerly known as Madeline’s Ghost, records his own songs in his spare time.
Pospeshil said his 10 favorite rock stars never fail to leave it all out on the stage.
“They’re all talented in what they do, not afraid to put themselves out there in front of people and don’t hold anything back,” he said.
Without further ado, here are Pospeshil’s top 10 rock stars.
10. Jim Morrison – “He was so far out there and so cool and such an amazing lyricist. Morrison showed the world what stage presence is. He was actually born on my birthday.”
9. Dimebag Darrell – “Darrell was probably the best metal guitarist of all time. He just shreds. Coincidentally, he happened to die on my birthday this year. I was really sad. That sucked.”
8. Bradley Nowell – “His lyrics really speak to me, and his combinations of reggae and punk are genius.”
7. Les Claypool – “Claypool plays with Primus, and he’s one of the reasons I started playing the bass. His band was really the first one I ever heard that the bass player wasn’t stuck in the background.
6. Jimmy Page – “Even though he’s a really sloppy player, he lets it all go with his attitude.”
5. Roger Waters – “Pink Floyd is my absolute favorite band. Their compositions are genius.”
4. Bob Dylan – “I love his lyrics. You got to really listen to him closely because of his style.”
3. Bob Marley – “He can put anyone in a good mood. His stuff is so upbeat and easy to move to.”
2. Jimi Hendrix – “He held nothing back and revolutionized rock music. Plus, I dig the hair.”
1. Victor Wooten – “He’s the greatest bass player in the history of the universe. He has a style of all his own, and when he plays, it sounds like three people are playing.
