The Residence Hall Association announced Sunday night the final dates candidates of the RHA executive board can lobby for votes for the 2005-2006 school year.

The RHA is holding an open forum tonight at 9:30 p.m. in the Lincoln Hall Commons Room where residents can ask RHA executive board candidates their plans for the coming year and get a better understanding of each candidate, said RHA President Keith Kruchten.

The RHA executive board candidates for the positions of president, administrative vice president, programming vice president, treasurer, secretary, NCC/ICC and public relations officer will answer residents’ questions at the open forum.

The candidates will be elected by the hall councils of Neptune, Lincoln, Douglas, Grant North, Grant South, Stevenson South, Stevenson North, Believing in Culture and the RHA General Assembly. The results of the elections will be announced during the RHA meeting at 5:30 p.m. on April 3.

The National Residence Hall Honorary will hold a date auction at 7:30 p.m. March 30 in the Douglas smart classroom.

“This is a fun way to spend the night with friends during a stressful part of the semester, and it’s for a good cause,” said NRHH Vice President Hayley Thrasher.

Bids for a date will start at $3 with all proceeds going to The Safe Passage Women’s and Children’s Shelter in DeKalb.

The date auction last year raised $317 for Operation Stars and Stripes, said NRHH President Becca Bennick.

Students can sign up to be auctioned off for a date by e-mailing basic information to [email protected].
