Watch out, DeKalb, rock ‘n’ roll is taking over the town.
“People out here need something to do,” said Jeremy Eisenberg, who is in charge of booking at Otto’s Niteclub, 118 E. Lincoln Highway.
On Friday, Otto’s will host The Tossers, Deals Gone Bad and Heeby Jeebies, in the main room. Vam Dammits and Spinderson will be heading on stage in the Underground at Otto’s.
Harmony of Lies, F.O.S and JFJ will be taking over the stage Saturday in Otto’s main room. Endless Mike and The Antenora will play in the Underground.
“A lot of these kids are suburban kids, and if you bring out a lot of Chicago bands, the kids know who they are and will come out,” Eisenberg said.
Upcoming acts for Otto’s will be the 2000 Grammy-nominated Liquid Soul of Chicago, on Feb. 19. Lucky Boys Confusion will stroll back into DeKalb on Feb. 27 for an 18-or-older show.
The Rodeo, 249 Palmer Court, will host J+J+J, Melon Boat and The Metroids tonight.
“We have a few big shows coming up next weekend,” said John Ugolini, founder of Kickstand Productions, which books The Rodeo.
Tickets for Friday and Saturday night performances at Otto’s are all general admission at the door for shows in the main room. Shows in the Underground are free.
Tickets can be purchased at the door for $4 and the show starts at 10 p.m.
