Man faces burglary charges

DeKalb police on Friday announced the arrest of a 17-year-old man in connection with a break-in earlier this month at a local school.
Police charged Michael Spangler, of DeKalb, with burglary for his involvement in the Jan. 6 burglary of Huntley Middle School, 821 S. Seventh St.
All items stolen during the burglary, including two laptop computers, a computer monitor and two hand-held radios, were recovered by police.
The teen was taken to the DeKalb County Jail and released Saturday after posting bond.
Police said a second subject involved in the burglary was referred to juvenile authorities.
Burglary of a school is a class 1 felony punishable by four to 15 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.
DeKalb police were unavailable for comment.
