Outside the ring, he is known as Mick Foley. Inside the ring, he’s known as Mankind, Cactus Jack and Dude Love.

Foley, World Wrestling Entertainment performer wrestler and best-selling author, will speak to students at 7 p.m. tonight in the Carl Sandburg Auditorium.

His speech will be about his life as a wrestler, how he got into wrestling, what he is doing now and how wrestling has impacted him, said Tiffany Gonzales, speakers coordinator for the Campus Activities Board.

“We’re trying to get as many diverse speakers as we can, and he’s different than everyone else we’ve brought,” Gonzales said.

Besides being a successful professional wrestler, Foley has also tackled the written word. His autobiography, “Have a Nice Day!,” was on the New York Times best-seller list. He has also written three other books, including “Mick Foley’s Christmas Chaos,” “Foley is Good” and “Tietam Brown.”

Foley will have a book signing of “Have A Nice Day!” following his speech. Copies of his book are available at the University Bookstore and other local bookstores.

His tour will take him to 20 U.S. cities, as well as stops in Canada and England.

He will kick off the tour on July 9 in New York City.
