CRU takes wider range of films than reported
October 17, 2004
In Thursday’s Weekender, an article was printed about the CRU Film Festival. Unfortunately, the author took the quote of an entrant and applied that to the entire festival, stating that the films needed to be Christian-based to enter. This is, in fact, not the case (don’t worry, Jessie, everyone makes mistakes).
The Web site contains everything that interested parties need to know to enter, but for clarification: Films need only have something (anything) to do with the theme – which is metamorphosis – and these films need only be one- to 15-minutes long. There are format requirements as well, which are listed on the Web site. However, the purpose of the film festival is not to be a platform for Christian films; it is a fun way to meet people in the community and share a great experience with the campus as a whole.
Regardless, good luck to all of the current and future entrants, and we’ll see the rest of you out at the screenings!
