Police charge men with trespassing after incident

DeKalb police are investigating an incident involving a BB gun that took place Sunday morning.
Officers responded to a 5:15 a.m. call for a man with a gun breaking into a residence at 948 N. 12th St.
Police said two suspects fled the area on foot but were caught several blocks away.
Homero Valencia, 22, of 1306 1/2 Pleasant St. and Antonio S. Carillo, 20, of 808 N. 14th St., Apt. A, were charged with criminal trespass to a residence.
Valencia was also charged with aggravated assault.
Police reported that the two men were had visited the residence earlier in the day and left after a dispute with the inhabitants.
The suspects and residents knew each other, said DeKalb police Lt. Jim Kayes, but the cause of the dispute is still unknown.
Police were called when both suspects later returned with a BB gun and broke in, police said.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing; the DeKalb County State’s Attorney’s office may file additional charges.
