PPMO fashion show rocks the runway
April 22, 2004
Present Perfect Modeling Organization hosted its 20th annual spring fashion show Thursday at the Holmes Student Center’s Duke Ellington Ballroom. About 300 people attended.
The theme for the fashion show was “Encore.” Talitha McFadden, a member of the organization’s production committee, said they came up with the name because of the demand for the spring show.
“Every time we have a spring show, everyone is always wondering when the next show is,” she said.
There were seven scenes in the fashion show: Rain On Me, Stripes, Formal Wear, Topless Denim, Vibrant Thing, A Day on the Beach and The Finale. The first scene featured new spring fashions.
“I thought it was great how the male and female models coordinated with each other,” senior nursing major Aisha Brownlee said.
Amber Williams, executive producer for the fashion show, encouraged alumni audience members to come out and walk on the runway. Williams said it would be nice for the members to show NIU students the way Present Perfect Modeling used to walk down the runway.
Halfway through the show, the current executive board members announced the new executive board and gave out awards.
“We just wanted to thank everyone who put in hard work this year,” said Tanisha McCaskill, 2003-’04 president of Present Perfect Modeling. The executive board also expressed its appreciation for the members of the organization who would be graduating.
