Seminar aims to examine sex education questions

The “Vagina Seminar: Re-imaging Women’s Bodies” will answer all the questions you are afraid to ask.

The seminar will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at DuSable Hall, Room 204. It is a time for women to receive frank and accurate information about biology and sex, said Sandi Caldrone, Women’s Alliance co-president.

“Everyone I’ve talked to has had serious complaints with their sex education classes. A lot of health education seems to ignore that people do indeed have sex or the education is completely absent,” Caldrone said.

Members of the Women’s Alliance will cover topics including basic reproductive biology, birth control and menstruation.

Caldrone will speak about body image and biology, and Luz Gonzalez, Women’s Alliance co-president, will answer some frequently asked questions, including what an orgasm or multiple orgasms are, where the G-spot is and whether it exists.

Members from the Women’s Alliance will answer questions based on the research they’ve done, Caldrone said. No professionals will be on hand, she said.

Following the seminar, the Women’s Alliance will pass out goodie bags filled with informational pamphlets and donations from University Health Service.
