ULife.com provides a new Web service for college students nationwide.
Launched on Jan. 21, the University Lifestyle Web site currently has about 2,000 to 3,000 members.
ULife.com plans to tour Illinois to promote its site. It hopes to stop at major universities, including NIU, said Andrew Clark, vice president of ULife.com marketing and sales.
“Our goal is to reach out to the local college community,” Clark said.
Clark said they are trying to build the largest online community to inform students about academics and entertainment.
The Web site includes a resume builder, homework helper, trivia facts and travel deals. Students also can buy, trade or sell textbooks.
“ULife.com strives to reflect the collective voice of the college community,” said Barrett Masso, CEO of ULife.com.
Masso and Clark currently are promoting the site on their Spring Break tour. The tour kicked off at Panama City Beach, Fla. They were at South Padre Island, Texas, last week, and they are in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, this week.
Clark said the company also will air commercials on MTV and provide more giveaways and scholarships for members.
ULife.com also offers a music channel and the latest fashion trends. It also has talent exposures where students can be exposed to theaters, bands and artists.
The site soon will have message boards and music downloads, Clark said. He also said they will host personal Web sites for members.
