A St. Charles man died Friday when the car in which he was a passenger collided with a construction truck.

Ralph Irving, 83, was transported to Kishwaukee Community Hospital after the Nissan car he was in turned in front of a Ford F450 construction truck Friday morning at the intersection of Peace Road and East Lincoln Highway.

Irving’s car then struck a Ford van, and the three vehicles came to a rest on the south side of the roadway.

Five police units and eight fire trucks and ambulances responded to the accident.

Irving, along with the passengers of the van, was transported and treated at the hospital. Irving died at the hospital at 10:47 a.m.

The DeKalb Police Department is investigating the collision in conjunction with the DeKalb County Coroner’s Office.

No charges have been filed yet.
