Restaurants checked for violations
January 30, 2004
The Barn isn’t the only Class E establishment that may be catching heat from city officials.
During random checks last week by plainclothes officers, two area restaurants were found to be in violation of the liquor ordinance, DeKalb Police Chief Bill Feithen said.
Feithen said he planned on speaking with owners of Ruby Tuesday’s, 2370 Sycamore Road, and Husky’s Bar and Grill, 1205 W. Lincoln Highway, for minor violations to the liquor ordinance.
When officers entered the restaurants, they sat in the dining area and ordered alcohol without ordering food. Under the ordinance, patrons cannot sit in a dining area and not order food.
They must sit in the bar if they’re not ordering food, Feithen said.
Feithen said he is not sure what, if any, charges the two restaurants will face.
