For the third straight year, NIU outside hitter Tera Lobdell was named to the honorable mention All-MAC team Wednesday.

Lobdell averaged 4.32 kills per game during the regular season for the Huskies.

“Tera has matured a great deal from her sophomore to her junior year,” NIU coach Ray Gooden said. “She has made really good strides in all areas of her game because one of her goals is to be a complete volleyball player, and she has worked very hard to be just that.”

Middle blocker Kate McCullagh was named to the All-Freshman squad. McCullagh, who started the final eight matches of the regular season, is 12th in the MAC in blocks per game with a 1.03 average.

“Kate has just taken advantage of her situation and her opportunities,” Gooden said. “She is a contributing member of our team, and her role is beginning to expand with each match because her performance is paying great dividends.”

Ohio, the No. 1 seed in the MAC Tournament, had a pair of players named to the first and second teams. Central Michigan had three selections combined on the first two teams.
