Nestle truck topples
October 1, 2003
A Nestle semi-truck overturned near the Annie Glidden toll exit on Wednesday, closing the exit for four hours.
Drivers were unable to exit at the Annie Glidden plaza, but no lanes on Interstate 88 were closed. Motorists could have used the Peace Road exit, or gone through the oasis and headed westbound.
Master Sgt. Emmit Clifton of the Illinois State Police District 15 said the truck was headed eastbound on I-88 toward the Annie Glidden exit when it overturned. Clifton said the driver was treated for minor injuries, none of which were life-threatening.
The accident only involved the semi-truck. The truck had come from the Bloomington Nestle plant and was headed toward the DeKalb distribution plant.
The truck was reportedly carrying various Nestle products.
