Limited time to buy books
October 2, 2003
Students who have not bought their books for the fall semester only have a little time left.
Both the University Bookstore and Village Commons Bookstore have started shipping back old books to make room for next semester.
Lee Blankenship, general manager of VCB, said most of the books already have been sent back.
“We did return books that we didn’t sell,” Blankenship said. “We do this every year to clear room for the new books.”
However, students still can place orders for books that have been sent back.
“We can order them and get them pretty quick. Normally, it’s not much of a problem,” Blankenship said.
The University Bookstore also is starting to return old books, although many of this semester’s books still are available.
“We have just started sending back books. We need to get ready for next semester. It comes pretty quick,” said Mitch Kielb, acting director of the Holmes Student Center.
Kielb urged those who have not bought books to do so immediately because most will be gone by the middle of the semester.
Jake Prickett, a junior communication major, said she is not too concerned about not having needed books.
“I’ve only bought one book. The others don’t seem very important for the class,” Prickett said. “I’m not too worried.”
Both bookstores still are carrying books for classes that start later in the fall semester.
