Homecoming winners

The festivities have ended and the points have been added up to determine the winners of this year’s Homecoming.
The first-place winner of the highly-competitive bracket is the team of Alpha Kappa Lambda and Alpha Delta Pi.
The first-place winner of the competitive bracket is the Delta Sigma Pi team.
Teams were judged and given points for winning events throughout the week.
“It feels awesome to have won Homecoming because we worked really hard and managed to get 95 out of the 100-point total,” said Ben Eisenberg, a senior OMIS major and Alpha Kappa Lambda member. “After we won the boat race, we had a feeling that we would win Homecoming overall.”
Events included a recyclable-boat race, a banner competition, a volleyball tournament, Yell Like Hell, a parade and a house decorating contest.
“The banner, parade and the house decorating were judged based on creativity, craftsmanship and relation to the theme,” said Becky Kampe, Homecoming coordinator for Campus Activities Board. “They couldn’t have just thrown it together the night before.”
Team members said they put a lot of work into the Homecoming events.
“We worked on our banner for at least a week,” Eisenberg said. “We made sure that it was painted perfectly, and we were very proud of it.”
Some team members thought they could show the rest of the campus what their houses could do for the university.
“It was an opportunity for our house and the fraternities to get together and bond, and do some activities in the process,” said Bethany Crossley, a junior art education major and Alpha Delta Pi member.
