Gripe with CAB

You know people are always complaining that there is nothing to do here in “corn country.” So one day when I’m reading, I stumble across an article on how the Campus Activities Board has all these great events planned. I was so moved by this that I actually signed up for a trip to the Jenny Jones show. I paid $14 for myself and a friend.

Unfortunately, that trip was cancelled and rescheduled for a later date on which I cannot attend. So I go to gather my refund and I’m told that it will take two to three weeks to have a check issued to me. First of all, I paid cash and I want my cash. I did not ask them to wait two to three weeks before I could pay them. Second, if this is what I should expect every time I sign up for something through CAB, I might as well plan my own trips and lose money at my own risk. Third, as this school makes more interest off my money, I again reap none of the benefits.

Don’t get me wrong, I am the first to praise CAB for the Black Crowes (if they even played a role in getting them here). It just goes to show you when something good happens, something bad always follows.
